Today we had a practice at running races for athletics day. We looked at staying in our lane, running right to the end and how to start with 'On your marks, get set, GO'

Spelling

We have started our spelling testing on a Friday now. The children buddy up and test each other on the words they have been learning at home for homework. They also get a chance to practice these words in a fun way in class through our spelling contract where they complete up to 8 activities a week. These things include rainbow writing, pen words, telephone words, secret codes, vowels and consonants and pyramid writing are just a few of the many activities we may complete.

Week 1 Digraphs

This term we are looking at digraph letter sounds in the classroom. These are those tricky middle sounds in words. This week our sounds were ai, ea, ee and oa. Here are some things we watched in the classroom to help us learn these sounds.
